Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Symbols

Reading this book “Symbols”. Not going to bother linking to it since it’s in Swedish. Reference book. Classic and modern symbols from the skull, pidgin and cross to @, Uncle Sam and the swan. Etc. Haven’t got through more than a couple dozen pages, eager to continue.

Symbols are humans oldest way of expression in writing. It explain how the symbols are used. Which reality, rumours and myths they are connected to. Have no doubt there are several alternative books written in most languages. What does the pidgin in the painting from the renaissance mean? The lion, what does it symbolise?
