Buddism is a higher mental calm and clarity, philosophy or psychotherapy. Buddhism is not a religion since Buddhism has no supreme God, instead a great teacher called a Buddha (‘one who is awake’ — in the sense of having ‘woken up to reality’) or The Awakened One. Religion is the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. Buddha was a wise man. He did not claim to be a god or a prophet. He was a human being who became Enlightened, understanding life in the deepest way possible.
Buddism is insight and largely true, the therapeutic means to deal with the problems of life.
